Development of ICT tools \ technology towards an interactive multimedia Agro Advisory System:

  • National Agricultural Innovation Project, was sponsored by ICAR ( Indian Council of Agricultural Research); It was a network Project of Consortia consisting of EPFPCL, TamilNadu Agricultural University, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Chennai, National Agro Foundation and Dharmapuri Precision Farm Agro Services Ltd. Instant and interactive agro- advisory ICT tool was developed for the benefit of farmers.
  • The basic data of farm, farmer and crop under cultivation were collected through hand held gprs device; The farmer can transmit images of the crop or part of plant that was affected through his mobile, The expert at the other end will collate information already available in the database and offer instant recommendations.
